Canadian Military Industries Aid and Abet Israeli War Crimes in Gaza

In response to Israel's bombardment of Gaza and the killing of hundreds of innocent children and other civilians in Gaza, the Coalition to Oppose the Arms Trade (COAT) -- an Ottawa-based Canadian anti-war network -- has just produced a detailed research report exposing the deep complicity of Canadian military companies in the arming of Israel.

This report, called "Canada's Military Exports: Aiding and Abetting Israeli War Crimes in Gaza (2008-2009)" is now available online at the COAT website.

Consisting of nine detailed tables of data, COAT's report contains two main sections composed of tables detailing Canadian military companies linked to supplying the Israel armed forces: (1) Canadian Complicity in the production of Major US Weapons Systems used by Israel and (2) Direct Canadian Military Exports to Israel.

(1) Canadian Complicity in the production of Major US Weapons Systems used by Israel
COAT's new report names more than 50 Canadian military exporters that have supplied a wide range of essential components and/or services for the three major US weapons systems used by the Israeli Air Force. These weapons systems were employed by Israel during the recent aerial bombardments of Gaza which killed . The report documents Canadian contracts with hundreds of links to corporate and government sources for exports supplying Israel's two main varieties of fighter/bomber aircraft and its helicopter attack gunship:

CANSEC

The government of Canada has not only lent diplomatic support for Israel's bombardments, it has played a major role in the military exports that equip Israel's military allowing it to conduct the recent massacres. Financing military companies through govt programs and the CPP.  This means that not only are those Cdns who work for these industries involved, all working Cdns are complicit through our taxes and CPP payements.
