Air Show to return on September 14 & 15, 2002

Ottawa, March 12, 2001: The National Capital Air Show Association will not organize a 2001 event at the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier Ottawa International Airport due to construction to take place at the airport in June.

"In response to a request from the airport authority, we will not organize a show this year but will return next year on the  September 14th weekend," said National Capital Air Show Chairman John D. Issenman.  "The second weekend after Labour Day in September will become our permanent Air Show weekend."

From its humble beginnings at the Carp Airport in 1985, the National Capital Air Show has grown into a significant Canadian aviation event.  It has hosted hundreds of thousands of visitors and has developed an enviable reputation world wide for its educational value, stunning performances and aviation firsts.

The National Capital Air Show is a non-profit event sponsored by the National Capital Air Show Association.  Funds from the event are shared by several community charitable and non-profit organizations in the National Capital Region.
