“They have met the enemy and we
is them.” I draw two parallel
meanings from this:
(1) The Masters of War can’t do
their business without our consent. In fact they need more than our consent,
they need our complicity, our money and our bodies.
(2) The biggest potential enemy
faced by the institutions of war is not some foe on a foreign battlefield,
it’s a strong anti-war movement that can help the public back home to see
through the lies told to us by our governments and their friends and backers
in the military industrial complex.
