Jules Archer

By Richard Sanders, Editor, Press for Conversion!

Archer is the author of the only book that focuses exclusively on the fascist plot to oust President F.D. Roosevelt. Now out of print, Archer's book on this subject is called The Plot to Seize The White House (New York: Hawthorne Books, 1973). Soon after publishing this, Hawthorne Books went out of business. Second-hand copies are now available for as much as US$250. Contact your local library to borrow a copy through interlibrary loan, it's well worth it.

Here are three excerpts from Archer's book, The Plot to Seize the White House, 1973:

(1) On how Gen. Butler reacted to the House Committee's cover up of conspirators' names

Archer was born in New York City and graduated from the City College of New York. During WWII he served in the Pacific with the Army Air Corps. According to the jacket cover of his book on "The Plot" he also worked as a freelance correspondent, by order of General MacArthur.

Archer was interviewed for the 50-minute History Channel documentary called "The Plot to Overthrow FDR" (In Search of History, 1999).

Archer also wrote many other political books largely dealing with American history and/or fascism. His books include the following: Twentieth Century Caesar, Benito Mussolini (1966), The Dictators (1967), The Extremists: Gadflies of American Society (1969), Hawks, Doves and the Eagle (1970), Thorn In Our Flesh: Castro’s Cuba (1970), Treason in America: Disloyalty Versus Dissent (1971), Strikes Bombs & Bullets: Big Bill Haywood & the IWW (1972), Watergate: America in Crisis (1975), Police State: Could It Happen Here?
