Several articles in this issue focus on Malalai Joya, an incredibly brave woman who is Afghanistan's youngest MP. She recently spoke at the NDP convention in Quebec City. We were very fortunate to be able to arrange for her to speak in Ottawa, and I was truly honoured to introduce her to a crowd of 450 people at Prof. Denis Rancourt's "Activism Course" at the University of Ottawa.
