MDA

MDA is the Vancouver-based company that took control of RADARSAT when the Liberal government privatised this satellite program.

RADARSAT, is probably Canada’s largest single contribution to the militarisation of space and to U.S. warfighting.

It started under the Conservatives as a U.S.-Canadian government effort.
Canadian taxpayers have paid almost 90% of $1.15 billion bill for these two satellites.
One of RADARSAT-2 main roles is to target alleged missile sites for first-strike attacks that are part of Theater Missile Defense.

It is the world's most advanced commercial satellite system and U.S. military and spy agencies are among its top users.

In exchange for launching RADARSAT-1 in 1995, the U.S. government directly controls 15% of RADARSAT-1’s observation time.

Its data has been used during the wars in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iraq.
