The Canadian public is understandably proud to see our smiling troops bringing new school desks to smiling Afghan children.

It’s a great image.

But Canadian peace activists want our troops brought home. We aren't opposed to the troops we're against the "unwinnable" mission on which they've been sent.

One thing all Canadians should oppose is our military's distribution of school supplies to Afghan children.

But wait, who could possibly argue against such loving, humanitarian work?

Surely, only the “evil-doing” Taliban and al-Qaeda “scumbags” who “detest our freedoms,” could ever dream of opposing such wonderful humanitarian efforts.

Right?
