It wasn’t BMD that died that day, it was our  growing movement against it.

Although we had built up quite a momentum of public opposition to BMD, it all came to a screeching halt when we stepped into their trap.

 
The saddest thing about the death of this struggle was that some peace activists were manipulating into helping to lay the movement to rest.

Activists who the media often portrayed as leaders of the charge against BMD, were among those who blindly accepted the government’s word that Canada was now saying "no" to BMD.

And, perhaps worse, they immediately took credit for this hollow victory.
