On the day after the “We Win on Missile Defence” email went out, when many peace activists were probably writing their letters of support to the government, Pettigrew was on CBC radio saying that, well, yes, actually, Canada IS, in fact, still totally open for business on “missile defense.” 

 

But even though the story was that Canada’s foreign affairs minister was giving the green light to BMD, the CBC news story had to begin with the now-familiar refrain that:

“Ottawa won’t be taking part in the U.S. Ballistic Missile Defence system…”

 

In two days, that’s how powerful the myth had already become!

BMD is dead!
