General Dynamics (GD)
While GD Canada (see below) is listed as one of the exhibitors at "Secure Canada 2008," the US parent company—General Dynamics—is listed as a corporate "sponsor" of this military trade event.
GD is one of the world's "Big Four" weapons makers.
Here is a profile of its corporate malfeasance
GD manufactures a wide array of weapons systems and is well-known for having lead the way as the prime contractor for the following on weapons systems:
Here is some information from its website describing some of the weapons systems it is most proud of:
Gun Systems: Vehicle-mounted and crew-served gun systems for land, air, and sea applications

General Dynamics Canada
Major Defense Acquisition Programs
The
Pentagon’s 2009
Budget Request Summary Justification provides a wishlist for $184 billion
worth of "Major
Weapons Systems." The "highest profile" of these programs, i.e., the
most expensive ones are "designated as Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAP)."
General Dynamics Canada is one of nine "Secure Canada 2008" exhibitors that are involved in one or more
these top MDAPs. For details, see "The
Role of 'Secure
Canada 2008' Exhibitors in
America's MDAPs."
GD Canada is largely devoted
to producing military hardware for export. Its website begins by noting the
following:
"Canada’s C4ISR System Integrator
"Today, General Dynamics Canada is a market leader with strong corporate
backing, commitment and resources. As Canada's world-class Systems Integrator,
General Dynamics Canada is uniquely positioned as a comprehensive battlespace
integrator with operationally tested systems experience on advanced platforms
and proven C4ISR integration capabilities. The UK Bowman, Swedish Hydra and
Aurora Data Management System provide compelling recognition of our system
integration skills."

But, of course General Dynamics, like the other companies at Secure Canada, will
apparently
not be displaying any
actual
"weapons and firearms" at Secure Canada 2008. This, we are told by City Staff,
means that Secure Canada is not an "arms exhibition."
Thanks goodness for that!
