Mock Warheads

These simple balloons are designed to distract US weapons away from their real targets, namely incoming missiles. They’re an easy way to thwart “National Missile Defense.”

So, if protecting us is just a pretext or decoy to distract us, what are the real reasons for developing these weapons?

For one thing, BMD works very well--thank you very much--as an excuse to transfer hundreds of billions of public dollars into the private bank accounts of huge weapons industries.

A second important purpose is to improve the targeting functions of existing weapons. Basically, they’re just doing target practice: Trying to hit a bullet with a bullet is a fancy form of skeet shooting used to hone technology and skills. But, just as hunters who practise with skeets can turn around and shoot deer or moose, or whatever they like, BMD weapons can also be used to fire at whatever targets they’re aimed at. They’re smart weapons, but they just do as they’re told, and if they can almost hit an incoming missile, heck they can hit almost anything, a plane, train, bus, building, wedding party, or whatever....
