Sword and Shield
This isn’t a new concept. It’s thousands of years old. To kill with their swords, warriors have always relied on good shields.
Picture the mediaeval crusader massacring Moslems under the pretext of protecting Christianity.
These guys would never enter the fray without a shield. That would be suicidal -- no matter how deadly their sword.
Knowing this, warmongers have always equipped fighters with both “defensive” and “offensive” hardware.
And remember, shields don’t protect the public, they protect the warriors.
Now, if our warriors were out there defending us, many would say fine, give ‘em shields and swords. Trouble is their track record isn’t good. The wars they’ve been fighting don’t protect us, they protect the interests of big corporations.
A Dutch report on “Theatre Missile Defence,” called “First steps towards global missile defence,” has explained that:
“Theatre Missile Defence will become an essential part of a rapid reaction force in regions where a threat of ballistic missiles exist.”
