Language constrains our thinking and forces us into false perceptions of reality.
 
In ancient Chinese, all the colours of the rainbow had only five names and in music there were only five tones.
 
Therefore the words we use to describe things actually blind and deafen us to objective reality.
 
Lao Tzu, the legendary founder of Taoism understood this well. Taoism is an ancient philosophy that underpins Confucianism and Chinese Buddhism.
