Canadian Military Exports to Turkey
This is not a complete list of Canadian military exports to Turkey.  This table includes the value of products
in "Group 2" (i.e., "Munitions") of the "Export Control List," published by Canada's Department of Foreign
Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT).  DFAIT reports do not include military products that are deemed
"dual use," even those products are exported directly to foreign militaries.  DFAIT reports do not include
military exports to the U.S., although these account for about 75% of Canada's military exports. Neither
do DFAIT reports contain any data on Canadian military exports that are assembled into complete
weapons systems in the U.S. and then re-exported to other countries.

Acronyms and Notes:
APC
= Armoured Personnel Carrier
AS
= Anti-Submarine
CW = Chemical Weapons
(Because CW includes "tear gas" -- or other "crowd control" agents and products -- the phrase "CW defence equipment parts" in the above table, likely refers to tear gas masks used by riot police and/or military.)

Discrepancy in DFAIT figures:
2001 and 2007 - The subtotals published by DFAIT for the munitions categories in 2001 and 2007 do not correspond to their totals for those years.  The subtotals and annual totals shown here for 2001 and 2007 were those published in DFAIT's 2001 and 2007 reports.  The subtotals for 2001, provided by DFAIT, actually add up to 1,503,647.  The subtotals provided by DFAIT for 2001, actually add up to 1,503,647 while the subtotals for 2007 actually add up to $789,537.

? = Question marks indicate erroneous or duplicated munitions data found in government reports.  Such duplications occurred in some munitions subtotals published by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in its reports for the years 2003 to 2006, and 2007 to 2009..  Removal of duplicated and/or erroneous munitions subtotals does allow figures to match the annual totals provided by DFAIT. It remains a mystery which of the duplicated munitions figures contain the correct data. The annual totals shown in the above table are the totals that were published by DFAIT.  DFAIT's error in publishing inaccurate munitions subtotals effects the "Munitions subtotals" column on the extreme right of COAT's table (above). The grand total in the bottom right is arrived at by adding DFAIT's annual totals, not by adding the "Munitions subtotals."
